Scientist I/II, Cell Therapy Process Development

Position Summary

We are seeking a scientist to join an exciting, fast growing and well-financed company to develop novel gene editing therapies for serious diseases.  The successful candidate will be integral in developing clinical manufacturing process for CAR-T cell therapy product. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, and a desire to create new medicines for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute process scale-up activities, including cell isolation and cell culture, gene editing by CRISPR technology, and process evaluations
  • Introduce and execute analytical methods for supporting process development
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies for process improvement
  • Assist in writing and revising technical documents
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities, as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in biology or related scientific discipline with at least 2 years of experience
  • Solid technical skills in molecular and cell biology
  • Experience in execution and development of analytical assays
  • Comfort in working with human blood products
  • Demonstrated ability to design, modify, and execute experimental protocols independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in immunology with extensive understanding of T cell biology
  • Expertise in automated, large scale cell processing and selection systems for processing human blood products
  • Expertise in T cell culture, T cell phenotypical and functional assays
  • Understanding principles of process development and characterizations
  • Working knowledge of good manufacturing procedures
  • Experience in technology transfer and working with contract organizations
