Position Summary

We are seeking a Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate to join an exciting, fast-growing and well-financed company to develop novel gene editing therapies for serious diseases.  Successful candidates will be integral in discovering and developing the next generation of therapies for hematological diseases.  Successful candidates will have significant experience executing experiments in hematology both in vitro and in vivo. Basic cellular and molecular biology skills are desirable in addition to familiarity or expertise in running animal models for the study of the hematopoietic and/or immune system. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, attention to detail, and a desire to create important new medicines for patients.


  • Planning and hand-on execution of ex vivo and in vitro cellular assays, including significant flow cytometry analysis and downstream molecular biology and biochemistry analyses
  • Contribute to the execution of in vivo hematology experiments using mice, as well as proof of mechanism, and proof of concept studies
  • Gather, analyze and present experimental data under the direction of a Senior Research Scientist

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in biology or related discipline and 5+ years of relevant research experience
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture techniques, including primary human cells
  • Significant experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques (PCR, ELISA, IHC/IF, Sanger sequencing)
  • Ability to design and execute multi-color flow cytometry and FACS experiments, including sample preparation, instrument running, and data analysis using FlowJo or similar analysis programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Track record of intellectually challenging oneself to enhance scientific abilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a results-oriented research team
  • Highly organized with significant attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience manipulating primary human hematopoietic cells
  • Experience in rodent handling, cell/drug delivery routes, tissue dissection/collection and processing, particularly of hemato-lymphoid organs (bone marrow, spleen, blood)
  • Experience with gene editing technologies
