Position Summary

This position is reporting to the Executive Director of FP&A and will primarily focus on partnering across the R&D organization, consolidating budgets and forecasts and providing accompanying analysis, assisting with establishing key business planning processes and implementing a forecasting system that will allow for improved reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead improvements to new budgeting and analysis tool (Adaptive Insights) to support LRP and Budget processes         
  • Drive continuous improvement within the finance organization to streamline processes and improve communication and flow of information to the business        
  • Help lead and manage the annual budget and forecasting process for all functions and programs    
  • Support the long-range planning process as a key participating member of the FP&A working group and working cross functionally with all aspects of the organization     
  • Prepare monthly financial and operational reporting package with variance analysis to budget, forecast, latest estimate, risks/ops and material drivers to business changes
  • Provide budget owners visibility to spending trends, financial commitments and progress against goals; actively help the budget owners manage the spend to plan
  •  Partner with the Accounting team on monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting processes      
  • Assist with Alliance Management; work with Vertex and Casebia finance teams
  • Manage the approval of requisitions and tracking of open commitment
  • Numerous Ad Hoc special projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in accounting or finance, MBA a plus        
  • 3+ years of FP&A experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, 8+ years total experience        
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills       
  • Strong understanding of Excel and ERP Systems; experience with Adaptive Planning a plus         
  • Financial statement knowledge and understanding of US GAAP         
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with superior attention to detail   
  • Ability to work within and meet all deadlines while executing on multiple deliverables
