Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this position’s primary responsibility is to develop and manage Technical Operations vendors for our current development activities across all our products. In addition, the position will also lead activities to establish vendor relationship management processes to ensure scalability and suitability of our supply base as we build the organization. The position will be the key point of contact for our vendors and interact closely with Finance, Research, and other internal teams to maintain relationships and deliver on commitments. The position also has responsibility to help formulate the company’s supply strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in evaluation and selection of suppliers of raw materials, starting materials, and services for the Technical Operations group.
  • Manage day to day technical and business aspects of relationships with Technical Operations suppliers
  • Oversee contract management, including purchase orders and payments, to ensure business continuity
  • Coordinate procurement activities for materials across Technical Operations.
  • Maintain systems to monitor procurement of materials by material, vendor, and other relevant parameters.
  • Collaborate across functional and project groups in order to improve forecasting of raw and starting materials for more accurate budgeting.
  • Lead and implement processes and procedures to centralize management, control, and reporting of GMP inventory across supplier network.
  • Perform and support various capacity assessments to validate business requirements and supply capacities based on forecasted demand.
  • Partner with Process Development, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance to coordinate material development, approval, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Develop and drive routine performance reviews for key suppliers
  • Establish common platforms for information sharing, expectations, and timelines
  • Drive alignment across vendors to deliver shared process and practices as organization grows
  • Foster CRISPR Therapeutics Core Values when collaborating with cross functional teams
  • Identify issues and/or risks with vendors and implement solutions to ensure timelines are maintained

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience in supply chain and/or manufacturing operations.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Extensive experience managing procurement and GMP operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as to collaborate with peers and work effectively in team-oriented environment; highly organized.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook) required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and managing suppliers of critical materials and services in both clinical and commercial environments
  • Knowledge and experience of application vendor selection methods, cGMP regulations, and management of suppliers of complex custom materials
  • Experience creating and managing supply chains
  • Professional certification in project or supply chain management such as PMP, APICS CPIM
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) including working with user requirements and implementation teams
