Research Associate, AAV Production

Position Summary
We are looking for a bench scientist (Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate) to join an exciting, fast growing gene editing company to develop novel gene editing therapies for serious diseases.  The primary job of successful candidate will be generation and characterization of adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors.  Prior experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology skills are required. Prior experience in generation and purification of AAV vectors is desirable. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, attention to detail, and a desire to create important new medicines for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Construction of AAV vector plasmids
  • Generation and purification of AAV vectors for ex vivo and in vivo gene editing applications
  • Develop and utilize analytical assays including qPCR, ddPCR and relevant functional
  • Work cross-functionally and effectively with therapeutic groups in fast-paced team environment
  • Maintain clear and complete laboratory records of study material and experimental results
  • May be required to perform other duties as required/assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in biology or related discipline and 3+ years of relevant research experience
  • Prior work experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques
  • Prior work experience in viral vectors
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, highly organized with significant attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a results oriented research team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AAV production is preferred
